Summer’s Must-See Movie? It’s Fantastic. Literally.

Looking for the perfect summer blockbuster? Marvel has you covered with Fantastic Four: First Steps, hitting theaters July 25, 2025. Rated PG‑13 with a 114‑minute runtime, this reboot of the classic team delivers high‑energy thrills and heartfelt family dynamics.

Originally dreamed up by Stan Lee in 1961, Fantastic Four was Marvel’s first superhero family, and this 2025 version launches them into a fresh, action‑packed story for a new generation. I was lucky enough to catch an early IMAX screening during Comic‑Con’s Preview Night in San Diego and it was a phenomenal kickoff for the event.

The plot centers on four cosmonauts who, after being transformed by cosmic forces, gain superpowers and vow to protect Earth. Their greatest threat is Galactus, an enormous planet‑devouring entity. The question isn’t just who can stop it, it’s whether Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss‑Bachrach, and Joseph Quinn can stand together… or if there’s something bigger at play.

We experienced it in IMAX, and it truly felt like a summer blockbuster with non‑stop action, stunning VFX, richly detailed sets and costumes, plus a few surprises I can’t spoil here. The excitement in the theater was electric. Fans wore T‑shirts featuring their favorite characters, lanyards adorned with SDCC pins, and the energy was palpable. Marvel Studios has crafted a pitch‑perfect ride. The film didn’t disappoint.

And as any self respecting Marvel fan knows, stay after the credits!
