Food and beverage pairings have gained popularity in recent years. But who would have thought of pairing cupcakes with skateboards? If you ask me, this sounds like a particularly unsafe duo, especially if the cupckake is being consumed while riding a skatebord. Except if you are professional skateboarder Tony Hawk.

Tony Hawk will be at the Sprinkles cupcakes shop at the La Jolla store to raise money for The Tony Hawk Foundation.

“Sprinkles Cupcakes Founder and judge of Food Network’s Cupcake Wars, Candace Nelson and Professional Skateboarder, Tony Hawk will be joining forces to help support The Tony Hawk Foundation, which focuses on the creation of public skateboard parks in low-income communities.  Nelson and Hawk will be greeting fans at the La Jolla Sprinkles Cupcakes located in The Shops at La Jolla Village from 1-3pm on Friday, September 21st where 100% of the weekend’s sales (9/21 – 9/23) from all ten Sprinkles stores of Tony’s favorite cupcake, the Cinnamon Sugar, will be donated to The Tony Hawk Foundation.”

Kids and parents, here’s your chance to have a close encounter with the legendary Tony Hawk, and the founder of Sprinkles Cupcakes, Candice Nelson!  They will both be hanging out at Sprinkles chatting with fans and posing for photos.

Don’t miss this opportunity to purchase Tony’s favorite confection and help a great a cause. It doesn’t get any sweeter than this!

The Tony Hawk Foundation seeks to foster lasting improvements in society, with an emphasis on supporting and empowering youth.  The Foundation supports recreational programs that clearly demonstrate that the funds received will produce tangible, ongoing and positive results.  To date, 417 Tony Hawk Foundation grant recipients have opened their skate parks and are currently serving an estimated 4.5 million children annually.
