to sort out answers to these questions
And the reality our kids are living in our celebrity-driven society.
With the multitude of blogs available on the World Wide Web about entertainment, pop culture and Hollywood in general, I felt these distinct cultural past times engaging our children daily needed to be linked with parenting to be relevant for this millennium's celebrity-driven society. Mamarazzi Knows Best.com is a blog encompassing these topics, and ties them to the unique influence Hollywood has on kids and families today.
Voted by Time Warner Cable as one of San Diego's 50 Best Moms, I started Mamarazzi Knows Best.com to share my own family's experiences regarding education, technology, the road to college, values and pop culture. I also write about my adventures as a mother living on the West Coast - and a little too close to Hollywood and Vine. I've been a blogger for three years, and also write a Hollyblog for the new on-line publication www.TheWrap.com. I'm a bilingual and bicultural mom, born and raised in Mexico, and I earned my B.A. at the University of San Diego and my Masters Degree at Oxford University in England.
The media exposure to young celebrities’ lifestyles kids, teens and families are subjected to is unavoidable: television, movies, clothing, books, backpacks, lunch boxes, bedding - teen stars are everywhere. Unless the television set is turned off, and your kids kept from visiting toy stores or standing next to glossy magazines at the supermarket check out line, they will get a daily dose of young Hollywood's life and values - like it or not.
Keeping kids grounded, while still allowing them to be part of mainstream society, is a delicate balance parents try to achieve to survive Hollywood's constant draw. After reading a post or two at Mamarazzi Knows Best.com, you'll hopefully click away from the site with a little more knowledge about how much of Hollywood's unrealistic images are good for your family's reality.
Thanks for reading, and I hope you’ll join me by posting your thoughts and suggestions in the comments section of the posts which interest you.
