Comic-Con 2011 – Highlights and Low-Lights

Comic Con Logo 300 x 368

I had a blast at Comic-Con this year. However, the five-day nerd-athon did not go without a hitch. I had some incredible adventures, and some unbelievable failures I am not too proud of. This year’s Comic-Con was a record breaker, especially for this humble blogger who tried to do too much with only one [...]

The 2011 Oscars: Boring, flat and uncomfortable

San Diego Film Festival Wraps Up 9th Year

The San Diego Film Festival wrapped up its ninth successful run this weekend, but the monumental task of screening 85 movies, documentaries and shorts in five days did not come off without a few hitches (or some disgruntled patrons threatening law suits!). Lines were long and theaters full to capacity, but overall the purpose of putting on this movie-watching event where filmmakers and movie buffs can see films before their theatrical release in an intimate setting, was achieved.
This year's selections were nothing short of Oscar quality. From “Conviction” with Hilary Swank, which made its US Premier right here in San Diego, and “Welcome To The Rileys” starring James Gandolfini and Kristen Stewart, to the World Premier of “The Kane Files: A Life of Trial” with Drew Fuller, these first-run films were first rate.

3D Television A Thing of the Present

It's coming!
Faster than a speeding HDTV bullet!
In fact, faster than you can say, 3D TV, three times fast!
Family home entertainment is about to get better with the fast-approaching launch of the Sony LCD 3D-Ready Television. Though not the first 3D television on the market, it is highly anticipated to be the best in this category. The new normal-looking Sony LCD television set will have 3D-ready capability to play 3D Blue-ray discs with the ease of a command.
