Bad Choices at Best Universities: Karen Owens and Duke Univeristy Scandal

A Duke University 2010 graduate spent quite a bit of time putting together a 42 page Power Point presentation containing detailed information about several of the school's athletes complete with graphs, names, places…and their sizes (not talking about shoes, though). Her project's title: “An education beyond the classroom: excelling in the realm of horizontal academics”. Clever title. Not so clever author.

How About Those Padres?

One of my all-time favorite movies is “Fever Pitch” with Drew Barrymore and Jimmy Fallon. My family can totally relate to Ben, the main character in this film about baseball, and his obsession with the Red Sox because we were on the same boat but with a different team — we were ardent San Diego Padres fans.
