As parents, we are eager to establish traditions with our young families. But we need to keep in mind that there are appropriate ages for certain activities, books, and films. Read my interview with the Chicago Tribune about my (horrific!) age-inappropriate experience when my parents took me to see a movie that I was not supposed to watch as a 12-year-old in 1972.

With so many resources and reviews available online on just about anything you’d like to do with your family, a scaring incident like mine doesn’t need to happen to you!

Enjoy making memories and traditions with your family this holiday season. I hope this article helps you make them merry, too!

I think this is an awesome article! I have found so much this year that it is so important to take age into consideration.

  3. Emily says:

I agree, it is so important to do age appropriate activities with your kids- I screwed up big time and took my four year old on scary rides at Disneyland and I regret it! He had nightmare for a week!
